A non-profit Fort Wayne pet clinic is working to stop pet overpopulation in its tracks.
Hope Spay & Neuter Clinic offers services to shelters and low-income families. The clinic's goal is to spay & neuter animals to prevent overpopulation. It is estimated approximately 70,000 puppies & kittens are born in the U.S. everyday. The clinic's director, Madeleine Laird, says it is impossible to find homes for each one.
The clinic relies completely on donations.
The clinic's annual fundraiser "Putt for Mutts" will be held on September 25, 2010, at the Chestnut Hills Golf Club with a 1:15 p.m. shotgun start. The cost is $75/person or $300/team.
