A Fort Wayne massage parlor with a history of prostitution arrests has closed.

The S-Spa shut its doors Monday, a week after one of its employees was arrested. Two other employees had been busted for prostitution earlier this year.

As FOX Fort Wayne was first to report, the city had been trying to shut down the S-Spa. The landlord of the strip mall where the spa was located says the spa left on its own, but it didn't have much time left. Other business owners in that mall are relieved.

“It will be nice to get a legitimate business in there,” said Mike Klockow, owner of Quality Cleaners which is located just two doors away from the spa. Klockow says the spa always looked suspicious.

“I saw guys going in the back door, and they would never, you know, look at you eye to eye,” said Klockow. “They always had their head down, kinda in a rush, you know, never wanted to chit chat with you.”

Three S-Spa employees were arrested for prostitution over the last six months, the most recent being Hyun Suk King, 61.

Last week, city attorney Carol Taylor told FOX Fort Wayne last week the city was working to shut it down, and that many people could get in trouble.

“I think it would be the owner of the spa, potentially the landlord that operates the commercial plaza where they’re located, and also the individuals that are employed by the spa,” said Taylor.

FOX Fort Wayne contacted the landlord of the strip mall where the spa is located. He says he was in the process of evicting the spa, but that it moved out on its own. He declined to be interviewed for the story, referring other questions to his lawyer, who was unavailable for comment.

Back at Quality Cleaners, Klockow says he looks forward to getting a new neighbor.

“Anything's better than what was in there,” said Klockow.

Last week, city attorney Carol Taylor had told FOX Fort Wayne that a court summons would be issued soon for anyone involved with the spa found breaking the law.
