It's not an easy job, but seventeen candidates are up to the challenge.

"Part of me says, well if somebody else thinks they can do it better...well this is the time to make that clear” says FWCS Board President Mark GiaQuinta.

This year four Fort Wayne Community School Board members are up for re-election: Pamela Martin-Diaz, Mitch Sheppard, Kevin Brown, and GiaQuinta.

Between cuts and school closings, it hasn't been an easy year for them.

But that's not stopping any of them from running again.

"If the direction of the board were to change, I think it would really be damaging to the progress that we've made” says Martin-Diaz.

When it comes to future cuts, all four have different opinions, but when it comes to the future school board--there's one cut three can agree on.

"I truly hope that Mitch Sheppard and Pamela martin Diaz are re-elected” says GiaQuinta.

But what about Kevin Brown?

"Well let's put it this way, I support Jordan Lebamoff” GiaQuinta says.

Sheppard is rooting for GiaQuinta and Martin-Diaz, while Martin-Diaz is rooting for GiaQuinta and Sheppard.

But as for Kevin Brown…

"I don't really have a comment there” says Sheppard.

Martin-Diaz says "his district needs to decide how they feel."

Brown was arrested for drunk driving in September. He was criticized by some fellow board members, including GiaQuinta. That bad blood hasn't gone away.

"Could I handle another four years of Mark GiaQuinta? No, not what-so-ever” Brown told FOX Fort Wayne today.

GiaQuinta is running for an At-Large position. Brown is running for the Fourth District.  Both may get re-elected but if that happens both might not be sticking around.

"If the Fourth District gives a significant amount of votes to Mark GiaQuinta and I win, then there's a strong possibility that I might resign” says Brown.
