He's an international sports icon, record-breaking athlete, and leads the way for most gold medals won in a single Olympics.  It's a combination that makes Michael Phelps an ab-solute perfect spokesperson.

"People are surprised when they hear that this Michael Phelps deal was

With a manufacturer that's in Fort Wayne Indiana” says Master Spas CEO Bob Lauter.

Phelps is linked to national brands like Subway and Under Armour.

His newest endorsement links him right here to Fort Wayne Indiana. Phelps just signed a deal with Fort Wayne’s own Master Spas, the largest swim manufacturer in the world.

"He was looking for a specific swim spa, something that had propulsion system that was different from the jetted systems that are out there” says Lauter.

Together they've created a new line of stylish swim spas. The price tag ranges between $25-and 45-thousand-per-spa.

"The day that we actually signed it, I was thinking ‘holy mackerel, we just signed Michael Phelps’” says Lauter.

The line features six different models. Most will be used for recreation, but swimmers of all ages and abilities can use them. In fact one model was designed especially for Phelps.

"He’s six-foot-four-inches tall, but he's got a six-foot-eight-inch-wing span, so on out normal models he would actually touch the bottom when he was swimming hard” says Lauter.

You've probably realize by now that these aren't your everyday spas.

Features include: underwater cameras and a sound system, so you can swim along to your favorite songs.

"Having something where they can swim year round everyday, no matter what the weather is really appealing” says Lauter.

Not to mention the major appeal.

"No one has in our history has ever had an endorsement like this where he's a global icon and everybody knows who his is” says Lauter.

Phelps has a packed schedule ahead. In addition to the new deal, he's training for the 2011 World Swimming Championship and 2012 Olympics, but despite the busy agenda, expect Phelps to soon make a stop in the Summit City.

"He would love to do a clinic with kids in swimming; some time in the next 16-months we will probably have him here” says Lauter.

The new line hits the market November 15th. For more information head to http://www.masterspas.com/
