Lesh was taken to jail immediately after the sentencing. Lesh pled guilt, in September, to throwing her baby in a dumpster a few hours after giving birth to the child.During the sentencing Lesh told the judge she didn’t know the baby was live when she put her in the trash. The judge heard several witnesses who defended Lesh. He also read a letter from the foster mother of the baby. The letter says the child suffers several mental and physical disorders due to alcohol and drugs Lesh used while she was pregnant. The judge sentenced Lesh to eight years of jail. She will spend six years in the Department of Corrections. The other two years in Dekalb County Community Corrections. The charge of attempted murder was dropped in the plea deal.
