Fort Wayne’s traditional kick-off to the holiday season lit up downtown tonight.

The ‘Night of Lights’ featured the illumination of the Santa display and for the first time the festivities included fireworks at Parkview Field.

Despite the rain and the cold, for many it's still the most wonderful time of the year.

With their hats pulled down, scarves tied tight, and umbrellas in tow, dozens gathered together tonight to bring the holiday spirit alive.

Santa and his reindeer lit up the sky and the faces of little ones. It's a tradition that, no matter the weather, keeps families coming back to year after year.

Crowds on Harrison huddled around the animated window displays.

For adults, it brought back wonderful childhood memories.

The holiday fun downtown doesn't stop tonight. Downtown HolidayFest continues through the entire holiday season. It features performances, art and more festivals for folks to enjoy.
