Folks packed Fort Wayne's Embassy Theater for a wonderland of decorated Christmas trees.

The 26th Annual Festival of Trees opened to the public downtown tonight.
A hundred decorators worked on over 40 trees.

‘Be Merry. Be Bright. Be Colorful' decorated by Vera Bradley was awarded ‘Best In Show.’

New this year, the theatre will hold the singing event 'Down the Chimney, Holiday Tunes From The Townies.’ It's one of many musical celebrations featured during the festival.

“’Night of Lights’ is definitely the kick-off to the holiday season in Fort Wayne and Northeast Indiana…40 designer trees, Santa and Mrs. Claus and Santaland are open all hours. We've got dance groups Saturday and Sunday, so it's a great opportunity for area youth groups to do their Christmas concerts at the Embassy.” Says Dana Poffenberger, Marketing Director for Fort Wayne’s Embassy Theatre

Money from the festival helps support the embassy theatre. The festival continues through November 30th. For more information head to http://www.fwembassytheatre.org/fest_of_trees06.htm
