Aaron Bishop is accused of stealing drugs, guns, about $7,000 in cash from the evidence room of the Excise Evidence Room. He was in court Monday without a lawyer, but says he will be hiring one.
Bishop is charged with theft and official misconduct. He is a 5 year veteran of the excise department. An excise officer enforces alcohol and tobacco laws.
Police say the items were stolen in August.The probable cause says Todd Pattee is Bishop's accomplice. Court document says Bishop and Pattee stole the times and Pattee sold them.
It goes on to say Pattee bragged to buyers that a cop helped him rob the police impound. The report says Bishop went to Wal-Mart the night of the burglary to buy a pry bar, hammer and gloves.
During the investigation those items were found in Bishop's home. A mini fridge and flat screen TV similar to items that had been stolen were found in Pattee's home.
Pattee and Bishop are believed to have gone to school together.
Todd Pattee is being held at the Regional Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio. He's being charged with Burglary, aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary. Bishop is out on bond.
Bishop's next court date is December 28th.
