The East Allen County School Board voted tonight to close New Haven and VillageElementary schools.
The closures are part of a major district overhaul passed last month in which some schools will close and others will be restructured.
The plan would save $6.9-million.
The redesign includes turning PaulHardingHigh School into a magnet school.
Originally Harding students were to be sent to New Haven High during the transition.
But, tonight the board decided to allow parents the opportunity to choose which of the four high schools their students would attend. Still many parents are very upset.
Public comment wasn't allowed at tonight's meeting.
EACS will have transitional information meeting for parents next Tuesday night.
It will be at 6:30 in the Paul Harding auditorium.
