FWPD Crisis Intervention Team

The Crisis Intervention Team is a special division of the FWPD trained to help people with mental illnesses. The program's goal is to target the root of the problem rather than simply jail offenders.

Deputy Chief Dottie Davis says the program saves tax dollars because it prevents many who are mentally ill from ending up behind bars where the county must foot the bill for medication and treatment.
