Concordia is focused on leaving last season in the past and making a name for them this year. And they think that they're experience and leadership can do it for them. After a disapointing season the concordia cadets are eager to get back.

"Well win-loss wise we were 0 and 10. We had to play 3 freshmen on the offensive line," said Head Coach Tim Mannigel.

"We had small numbers and we were in the best conference in the state. Compared to last year we can only move up. And were just looking to be better this," said Senior Wide Receiver Chris Frank.

"We're all disapointed with it. That's how how we wanted it to go. But we're making an effort this year to get there and be better," stated Senipr Quarterback Tanner Spencer.

One of the team's biggest improvements is the atmosphere

"You can tell the team is better. We're closer. We're a family. We're working together. We're getting stronger and faster," said Frank.

"We've become a family here. We're all like brothers. We all get along no bad attitudes this year. We're all just looking forward," said Spencer.

"The seniors have stepped up they are trying each day to become leaders on and off the field. They're showing that to the younger kids by the way they play and their energy to be a leader. So i think our leadership is pretty good," said Coach Mannigel.

What hurt the team last season will now help them.

"The strength of our team is our experience. We have guys coming back in almost every position. So we've made a point of saying to our guys don't go into these games wide eyed we've dont the varsity football thing before so it shouldn't be a shock to the system," said Mannigel.

"The juniors are back the sophmores are back and even last year we had freshmen starting varsity. They're all getting better, stronger, faster," said Frank,

Coach mannigel has a vision for the team.

"I want us to be a team that's known for playing really hard so then the season is a success for us. We're also trying to teach passion for a game so that they take that enegery and put it into game after game practice after practice we see that."

The team sees the post season as a huge possibility.

"Again here at Concordia we always strive to be playing, like most teams do, like all teams do, our best at the end of the season. And we think if we can do that, when the three day sectionals come up we have a chance to be really competitive," said Mannigel.

Frank stated that, "We're going to give it our best shot that's for sure."

Concordia kicks off their season next friday, the 19th, against North Side.
