Minor league baseball is determined to find the leagues best name and to do so they started the fifth annual, Moniker Madness tournament earlier this month. To play you fill out a bracket similar to the March Madness format. Three Tincaps players were nominated but now only one remains.

When Tincaps fans think of Kevin Quackenbush, the quack chant from the Might Ducks comes to mind. He said the chant has grown on him.

"I like it, it gets the fans involved, it's my last name and I like it. And I loved the movie growing up so I like it they did it for me in Eugene (Oregon) so and it's nice to hear it too."

Quackenbush said that he was surprised he was even nomiated.

"I actually didn't know much about it, until the guys on the team told me I was in it. So then I checked it out. It's pretty fun."

Fellow teammates Luis Domoromo, Johnaldo Pozo were recently eliminated. Out of 64 nominees, only eight remain. Quackenbush said he feels privileged to still be standing.

"I do actually. It's a very special honor."

Quackenbush said that it's his last name that's unique.

"I haven't met too many other Quackenbushes. My first names a little lacking in the special department too and my middle name is Robert," he laughed.

Quackenbush is very excited for the contest's outcome.

"It'd be cool to win it but there's some other guys that have pretty good names on there. Who knows what's going to happen?"

Quackenbush is up against Rougned Odor, a 17 year old shortstop for the Spokane Indians. Voting will conclude on August 25th and the winner will be announced Friday, August 26.
