FORT WAYNE, Indiana - Students at Concordia Lutheran High School, in Fort Wayne, Ind. chopped and buzzed off their hair for kids with cancer.
Margaret Fritz is a coordinator of the event and donated 9 inches of her hair. Fritz says "Well I'm not used to having my hair this long actually, but when I knew we were planning this in the summer I knew I wanted to be able to contribute my hair."
Most of the donated hair will go to Locks of Love. Students also rose over $7,000 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation. The organization does research on several types of childhood cancers. Addisen LaCroix, was also an event coordinator who said, "I've had a lot of cancer run-ins with my family. So this is just a really good cause and it's for kids so it make it that much more important."
A combination of thirty-eight students and teachers donated hair. A handful of hair stylists donated their time and services.
