THE KOMETS HIT THE ICE TODAY AS THEY GET SET TO TAKE ON QUAD CITY OVER AT THE COLISEUM WEDNESDAY NIGHT. NOW THE K'S ARE CURRENTLY SITTING ATOP THE TURNER CONFERENCE WITH A ONE POINT LEAD OVER EVANSVILLE, AND LATE LAS WEEK THE TEAM PICKED UP A COUPLE OF PLAYERS TO HELP CLINCH THE CONFERENCE CROWN INCLUDING FORMER RAPID CITY CENTER MIKE VASK-I-VO WHO PITCHED RIGHT IN RACKING UP A GOAL AND TWO ASSISTS AGAINST LAREDO THIS PAST WEEKEND. NOW VASK-I-VO SAYS HE'S JUST THRILLED TO BE PLAYING ON TEAM WITH A HEAD FULL OF STEAM HEADING INTO THE POSTSEASON
