A group of Noble County veterans are fighting to overturn the state's public smoking ban.

Last week, members of the American Legion hall in Ligonier filed a lawsuit claiming the ban is unconstitutional.

Starting next week, it will be illegal to smoke in most public establishments. Fraternal organizations like the legion can allow smoking -- but if they do, people under 18 will not be allowed inside.

In the lawsuit, post 243 says it has about 20 members under the age of 18 who visit each week. The post has already voted to allow smoking, so those members will not be allowed inside starting July 1st.
