Trigger-Happy Neighbor

By: Charlie De Mar
Updated: August 4, 2012

A Fort Wayne man who was shot and killed a man earlier this year has been arrested for yet another shooting incident.

It was later determined that during the first shooting back in march--Michael collier acted out of self-defense.

But neighbors of collier say his shooting rampages are a common occurrence--and they've had enough.

Dean and Tamara Koontz weren't surprised when they heard their neighbor shooting his gun Wednesday.,

"About 3:45 I woke up heard 5 or 6 shots go off and not the first time I've heard that so I was a little upset," said Tamara Koontz.

"The Koontz's say they think alcohol is what led Collier to shoot at least 13 .45 caliber bullets in the direction of this house," said Dean Koontz.

That's not a good combination being drunk and shooting a hand- gun," said Tamara Koontz.

Collier was arrested in march for a shooting outside of state bar and grill.    It was later discovered that Collier acted out of self-defense.

Although the Koontz have looked past the March shooting they still want to action to be taken against Collier.

"He has them legally but the fact that he drinks and can't handle it and uses his guns needs to stop and I can't do it somebody needs to step in who has the authority and they don't seem to be doing that," said Tamara Koontz.
