The Presidential campaign trail made a stop in the Hoosier State this weekend. Mitt Romney spoke with voters in Evansville about how to get the nation's economy back on track.

Romney also took the time to talk-up Indiana's Republican candidate for Senate, State Treasurer Richard Mourdock.

According to recent polls, Mourdock is in a dead heat with his Democratic Opponent, Joe Donnelly. Experts say Romney's public endorsement could help his image.

"When you're running for office, anytime you get somebody who is fairly well-liked who is able to generate revenue and attention for you, you should go ahead and make use of that," says Andy Downs of IPFW's Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics.

Mourdock has a strong lead in the financial race, however. According to recent reports, Mourdock is ahead by nearly $1 million since the may primary election.
