Aung San Suu Kyi left an imprint on Fort Wayne today.  Telling on-lookers to believe in yourself, be united and tips on how to be a great leader.

Thousands praised Aung San Suu Kyi with a standing ovation after she delivered her address. They chanted her name.

May Ayar Oo is part of the welcoming committee. Her father was an elected official of the National League for Democracy party, the same party Suu Kyi chairs.  Oo got to meet Suu Kyi. She says it's a cherished memory.

Suu Kyi was welcomed by the Mayor and Senator Dan Coats.  She opened her speech with a message to the Senator.

Suu Kyi talked to the crowd about the importance of learning and education.  She reminded Burmese people not to forget where they came from, urging the elders in the community to teach the younger generation, saying please don't forget your native languages, take pride in your culture, remember your traditions and heritage.

Suu Kyi vowed to try her best to help anyone who wants to return to Burma to be able to come back freely.
