They say low risk, however, doesn't mean no risk. The Allen County Health Commissioner says if you think you've been exposed and have the slightest symptoms, call your doctor.
State and local health officials say contaminated epidural steroid injection is for pain-management in back-pain patients, not the same one that pregnant women receive. They say they want to stress that the general public shouldn't be alarmed, fungal meningitis is a rare, non-contagious disease.
