Athletes who use Fort Wayne's River Greenway are speaking out about last month's assault on a runner.

Dozens of runners and cyclists gathered Sunday on the River Greenway trail near Tillman and Lower Huntington Road in Fort Wayne.

On September 24th, a runner was attacked and sexually assaulted by a man near that spot. A passerby spotted the attack, quickly intervened and called police, however the attacker was able to escape.

On Sunday, the public gathered to talk about the attack, and discuss ways to prevent it. Several local experts on self defense gave lectures about how to stay alert on the trail.

Fort Wayne Police are still searching for a culprit in last month's attack. The attacker is described as a black male with light skin, roughly 18 to 24-years-old. he was last seen wearing an Ohio State sweatshirt.
