FW Motorists Go Through Schoolbus Stop Signs

The Fort Wayne Police Department says they need your help with a growing problem that may be endangering your kids.
The police department says transportation directors from districts across the city have been increasingly concerned about people not adhering to the school bus arm that says stop. They have been going or around or not stopping at all, putting children at risk of getting hit.
FWPD says the problem is the worst on streets that have 2 or four undivided lanes. Those are streets that have no median or barrier separating the street.

The police department says it if caught, motorist can be ticketed, sentenced to 180 days in jail, or even fined $1,000 dollars.
