It was a family vacation gone wrong for one family after loosing their cat Skittles in Pokagon State Park.

After several weeks on the loose--Skittles was found and is getting ready to reunite with her family after an extended stay in Indiana.

A bird flying aimlessly was too good for Skittles the cat to resist as shesnuck out of her owners RV during a camping trip to Pokagon State Park-- where She was eventually picked-up by a park ranger.

Jacci Moss,  the director of the Friends of Felines' RescueCenter in Defiance, Ohio says she couldn't believe the 15-year old cat was found.

"After being lost in the woods for 6 weeks and her being 15 years old to have survived is astronomical that she survived that," said Moss.

Skittles has spent the last two weeks getting healthy before reuniting with her owner in Reno, NV.

"She was dehydrated and she had some flees and ticks she's also had a urinary tract infection," said Moss.

Even though Skittles' owners are all the way in Reno it's as if they haven't missed a minute as they've been able to track her every move from a 24-7 web cam.

"I'd see her on the cam and just start to cry--it's tears of just disbelief that she's there and safe," said Brenda Hershey, Skittles' owner.

"We have our 24-7 web cam and when Brenda her mom is on shell pop in on that and say she's here and we will go get skittles so she's been able to see skittles through our web-cam," said Moss.

In fact-- viewers of this interactive web-cam heard Skittles story and made it possible for Moss to fly withSkittles from Defiance, Ohio to Reno Nevada.

"We have a 24-7 web cam that is very supportive of this rescue center," said Moss.

Skittles will be reunited with her owner on Thursday.
