The Fort Wayne City Council has voted to cut over $915,000 from the city's 2013 budget proposal.
This comes one day after Mayor Henry revised his budget plan by reducing the tax increase to 2.8%.
Henry's proposal would maintain the city's cash reserve and use some of the interest from the Legacy funds. But, many council members aren't happy with any tax hike. Many Republican council members instead are proposing using cash reserves and Legacy funds combined with the cuts made tonight to cover the budget gap.
Council will vote on the 2013 budget next Tuesday. The following week, Mayor Henry will present his Legacy fund recommendations to council.
