If your school gets an "a," you can expect to get a visit from Indiana's leader in education, Doctor Tony Bennett.  He talked to students at Homestead High School about keeping up the good work.

The Department of Education released a through f grades for all Indiana schools yesterday.  This is the second year performance rankings have been given. This year the state's grading scale has changed a little.

All schools in the area did not do as well as Homestead.  Harrison Hill, in the Fort Wayne community school district received an "F." Bennett says failing schools are on the state's radar but have time to come up with their own "plan of action for improvement before the state will take them over.

A Fort Wayne community schools spokesperson says the Harrison Hill plan of action was already in the works before the grades were released.

Two other schools in the area, the Imagine Charter Schools also received a grade of "F."  When we called to talk to them about their failing grades, they were not available for comment.
