Thousands lined the streets this morning for the annual Veterans Day parade thanking local veterans who have given the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.

Members from a number of local veteran organizations walked in the parade that went from state boulevard and Parnell Avenue and finished up at the Memorial Coliseum.

WFFT was at the parade and spoke with veterans about the memories Veterans Day brings back for them and the importance of celebrating their service.

It was a day to honor, reflect, and never forget--the sights and sounds of today's parade served as a small 'thank you' to veterans who risked their lives protecting this country.

"This is a time when we remember all those who served our country, maintained our freedom and sacrificed on our behalf," said Tibor Bierbaum, a local veteran.

The sights and sounds of the parade bring back memories for those soldiers who fought for our freedom.

Honor, freedom and celebration summarize a day that commemorates years of sacrifice.
