Fire Destroys Fort Wayne Home

A Fort Wayne man arrived home from work to find his southeast side residence up in flames.   Nobody was injured but the homeowner was left with just the clothes on his back.

WFFT was with the homeowner today as he sifted through his belongings searching for answers.

"I pretty much broke down right there because this is all I have," said Anthony Morgan, the homeowner.

It's been a confusing day for Anthony Morgan.  He came home from work around 6:30 this morning to find that everything he's ever owned is gone.

"I don't know what to do, I don't know what to say, I don't know where to go," said Morgan.

When firefighters showed up to the 2500 block of Marcy Lane they thought someone was in the house because a car was parked in the driveway.  No one was home during the fire, but Morgan is now left without a roof over his head.

"Pretty much all I have on right now is all I have," said Morgan.

Pieces are all that's left of the home, but Morgan's family and friends stopped by, one-by-one to help him piece together the next steps of his life.

Morgan says today's fire continues a streak of bad luck

"My truck was broken into whatever it is you name it.  A tree fell on my car, my car was shot at and I don't even bother anybody," said Morgan.

The cause of the fire is still unknown but it started in the basement.
