Aliahna's Memory Being Kept Alive

By: Sherrell Hubbard
Updated: December 21, 2012

It has getting close to the one year anniversary of the disappearance of Aliahna Lemmon.  She went missing the day before Christmas eve.  It was later discovered that she had been killed by her babysitter Michael Plumadore at the Northway Trailer Park.

This time last year city, county and state police searched rivers and ponds and by helicopter for a missing girl, they found her days later dead.  It was then that an Aliahna advocacy group began to form.  Tomorrow that group will be coming together for a candlelight vigil at the girls elementary school.

Aliahna Lemmon attended Holland Elementary.  She was a third grader there.  The school has placed a memorial garden there.  Tomorrow there will be a memorial there.

Lindsey Brown and Erica Nuttle are from the Aliahna advocacy group "Wings of Innocence." When they heard Aliahna's story, they decided to get involved.  The group attended every court appearance to see that Michael Plumadore was brought to justice.

Plumadore received a sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.  The group says they want to see other would-be murders stopped before it is too late.

Tomorrow's vigil will kick off at 7 p.m. a limited amount of candles will be provided.
