Ammunition is getting scarce at local gun stores.
One owner says the threat of gun control has people buying all the ammo they can.
It's even hard for stores to stay stocked.
The owner of the Sniper Company says he's sold out of most of his ammo and it could take months to get more.
He says it's happening all over the country.
Shaun Beiswanger says he hasn't seen this in years.
"Hopefully things will come around in the next month or so, once manufacturers get an idea of what they're trying to do, what limitations we're going to be under and get inventory in quick," Beiswanger says.
With gun control legislation looming, he says customers have bought all the ammo they can get their hands on.
"Pretty much all we have left is our home self-protection ammunition, which are hollow points. They're more expensive, and people usually only carry a few boxes of those," Beiswanger says.
Everything else, especially less expensive ammo, sold out weeks ago.
The first to sell out was rifle caliber and ammo for the AR-15.
Even ammunition magazines are almost sold out nation-wide.
What's left cost four times what it used to.
He says it could take up to three months for manufacturers to catch up.
As the guns and ammo sell out, he urges buyers to learn how to properly use them.
"I highly recommend people get into a class, get some experience with these guns before running out and buying the gun that you don't know anything about," Beiswanger says.
Beiswanger says there are no limits on ammo purchases.
But that could change.
"Ammo's probably going to be the first thing that is something that's easiest to control, and it's the first thing to go," Beiswanger says.
He says since the election, ammo sales are at their highest in four years.
But it might take a few months until these shelves are reloaded.
Beiswanger says some of his customers have brought in some of their ammo stockpiles to sell inside the store, kind of like an ammo co-op.
But he's optimistic the industry will recover quickly.
