A Fort Wayne family is without a home after a fire on the city's Southwest side.

It happened just after two o'clock Monday afternoon at a home on the 93-hundred block of Sail Wind Court.

Firefighters say the blaze started somewhere in the garage. It quickly spread up the walls of the home and into the attic. Neighbors reported hearing an explosion around the time the fire started, but the fire department said it could not confirm those reports.

Officials say nobody was inside the home at the time of the fire. There were no injuries reported.
