Officials in Fort Wayne say they are getting closer to striking a deal with the troubled water utility on the city's Southwest side.

Tuesday evening, the Fort Wayne City Council held a public hearing about the issue. Residents from Aboite Township voiced their concerns about Aqua Indiana, the private water utility in that part of the city.

Back in November of last year, city officials announced a plan to buy out the utility following public outrage over pressure, and low quality water.

On Tuesday, officials said they were closer to striking a deal with the utility, and would likely have a plan to offer to the city council by the next hearing, scheduled for February 5th.
