A quick glance at Centlivre Village Apartments and you'd never guess the apartment complex was abandoned.

Zack Bonahoom lives at Park Place condos, just north of Downtown Fort Wayne. He's directly next to Centlivre, an eyesore, Bonahoom says he's determined to fix.

"There is no reason a once magnificent property in this part of town should be in such poor shape" says Bonahoom.

The complex has nearly 500 apartment units. Bonahoom say the owners have tried many times to get government grants, but after no luck, they put the 17-acre property is up for sale. It currently goes for a little over $3 million.

"It's clear the only remedy is private investment, and in this part of Fort Wayne, that should be the only thing necessary. We shouldn't need government intervention here" says Bonahoom.

Bonahoom is spearheading an effort to give the complex a facelift. He's trying to raise $5 million, enough to buy the complex and get the ball rolling.

Bonahoom says the complex would be affordable living; a good option for seniors and recent graduates.
