Auburn Police say a 16-year-old boy who went missing Monday night has been found dead in Muncie.

16-year-old Alex Rodecap was last seen Monday night around 10:30. Rodecap was believed to be armed and possibly to a danger to himself.

As a precaution, all DeKalb Central Schools were put on a "shelter in place" lockdown on Tuesday. Students were not allowed to leave the building and the lockdown was lifted around 1:30.

School staff told WFFT that Rodecap is a former student of DeKalb High School.

Around four o'clock Tuesday afternoon Police say Rodecap's body was found on the 1200 block of West Carson Street in Muncie -- just a block away from the campus of Ball State University.

Police have not released an official cause or manner of death. No word on why Rodecap traveled to Muncie.
