MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State's Jauwan Scaife was named to the All-Mid-American Conference Second Team on Monday, while Majok Majok earned third-team honors in a vote of the league's men's basketball coaches.

Scaife averaged 16.2 points per game for the regular season and finished second in the MAC during conference play with a scoring average of 19.9. The senior guard led Ball State's late-season charge up the conference standings by scoring 24.0 points per game over the final eight games when the Cardinals went 7-1.

The local product from Muncie posted more MAC games with at least 17 points than any player in the league, reaching the mark in 13 of 16 conference contests. He reached the 20-point mark seven times in league play, including 34 in the Feb. 27 win over Central Michigan -- the most points in a game by any player in the MAC this season.

Scaife has climbed to No. 14 on Ball State's all-time scoring chart with 1,298 career points, and he ranks second in school history with 196 career 3-pointers.

Majok averaged a double-double for the majority of the regular season and enters this week's MAC Tournament averaging 10.7 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. He enters postseason play as the top rebounder in the MAC and the No. 17 rebounder in the country.

The Perth, Australia, product and junior college transfer turned in his top performance of the season with 26 points and 13 rebounds Jan. 16 at MAC regular-season co-champion Akron. He ranks third in the league with nine double-doubles, five of which came during conference play.

With its run late in the season, Ball State earned the No. 5 seed and a first-round bye in this week's FirstEnergy MAC Tournament. The Cardinals will play in the second round Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. They will meet the winner of Monday's first-round game between No. 8 seed Buffalo and No. 9 seed Bowling Green.
