Fort Wayne Police say a man is in critical condition after he was shot Saturday morning inside a home on the 4500 block of Bowser Avenue.

Officers responded to the call at 4 a.m. The victim, suffering from gunshot wounds, was taken to a local hospital.

The man's identity has not been released. Witnesses told police that a man knocked on the door of the home and asked for an individual inside. When the victim opened the door, the man then began firing.

Police have not released a suspect description of the shoooter. Evidence suggests more than one shooter may have been present.

A gold SUV was seen leaving the area right after the shooting. Several others were inside the residence during the shooting, but no one else was injured.

The incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
