Drive-by Victim Dead, Arrest Made, Witnesses Speak Out

A Fort Wayne man has died following a drive-by shooting on the South side Tuesday afternoon. Police have also arrested the man who they say fired the shots.
It happened just after one o'clock Tuesday afternoon on the corner of Rudisill Blvd and Indiana Ave on Fort Wayne's South side. Witnesses told WFFT that a man fired at least five shots at a man as he walked down the sidewalk on Rudisill.
Police have identified the victim as Gerelle Borum, 22, of Fort Wayne. Josiah Thomas, 22, of Fort Wayne was arrested and charged with murder Tuesday night. Police initially detained him shortly after the shooting thanks to witness descriptions of the vehicle.
"There was blood all over the sidewalk and he wasn't moving," said a witness who wanted to remain anonymous. "He started moving his head a little bit and grasping for air so I took his pulse and his heart rate was really low and I just kind of sat with him and tried to talk to him."
