Fatal Morning Shooting at Pettit Ave. and Reed St.

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating an early morning
shooting that happened at the intersection of Reed Street and Pettit
Avenue.
Officers responded to the call at 7:53am. The victim, an adult female, was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
Preliminary reports show that the victim was a passenger on a Citilink bus and that the shooter was on the bus also.
According to police, witnesses report that the shooter pulled the victim off the bus and then shot her. According to witnesses, the shooter then fled by foot.
Police are investigating whether or not the shooter and the victim knew each other.
