The FBI has more than 20 people now assisting local and state police to solve April Marie Tinsleys murder. Police received 100 tips after Americas Most Wanted aired the Tinsley case on Fox Fort Wayne last month.
Local investigators held a press conference this morning to announce the FBIs help. Among the FBIs resources investigators now have access to are profilers and child abduction experts.
The investigations central operation and call center has representatives from five agencies including the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Sheriffs Department and the Indiana State police. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, NCMEC, is also helping in the investigation.
Local investigators say help from the FBI and NCMEC is invaluable and helps to pursue leads much faster.
