Allen County National Day of Prayer

Over 100 people attended the Allen County National Day of Prayer in
David Misner, Chairman of the Allen County National Day of Prayer, said the message of the event was hope.
"We wanted people to feel that when we trust God, He will provide for us," said Misner.
Jaime Overholt brought her three boys to the event. She said attending was important to her family.
"We just want to support our community and our country," said Overholt.
Nationally, President Obama marked the day with a proclamation. Obama decided not to hold a White House event, drawing support and criticism.
"Frankly, there's plenty of space in churches. We don't need to use government buildings to do them as well," said Barry Lynn, an advocate for church-state separation.
"There's an opportunity for the president and for congress to while the cams are on to say that we're a nation that believes in prayer," said Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Alabama).
