While the sound of turner cup champions is good Two time turner cup champions is even sweeter “I Tom Henry declare May 12 here in Fort Wayne Komet Day” announced Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry to hundreds of fans. Fans gathered outside the courthouse today with Komets on the brain and plenty of orange on it too. From handmade purses to handmade flags Komets fans were ready to celebrate. "Orange is my favorite color during Komets season" says one fan. Captain Guy Dupuis even admits that he is still in disbelief over their recent win noting that it seemed unlikely at first with a lot of team injuries. Yet somehow they pulled it off in the end. So with 2008 and 2009 under their belt only question is whats in store for 2010? “I’ve been hearing three-peat and four-peat says” Head Coach Al Sims. “A three-peat would be good for me.”
