Nearly 4200 have signed up to volunteer this Saturday as part of the Great American Cleanup.
Vicki Wade feels this is a great opportunity to give back to the community.
"Someone has to stand up for it, why not me?" says Wade.
Thousands of others like Vicki are asking that same question.
Mike Ayers will be there along with 45 kids he works with at local Recreation Centers. He feels it’s important to get the kids involved and volunteering.
"We teach them they need to give back to the community because its their community and if they dont clean it up nobody will” says Ayers.
This cleanup is the nations largest community improvement program. Volunteers will clean everywhere from parks to trails and neighborhoods to roadways.
"Its really kind of a fun event because people get to know their neighbors- sometimes people are new and its a great way to get involved" says City Utilities spokesperson Frank Suarez.
