Meet Tasha Denae. She’s an aspiring singer, songwriter and former idol wannabe. Tasha, 25, started singing in church when she was 5-years-old. Out of the hundreds of thousands that auditioned this season for American Idol, Tasha made it to the top 180. I sat down with Tasha and asked here “What’s it really like to audition for on American Idol?” “I auditioned in New York. There were around 17-thousand people there” says Tasha. Myth: theres one round before making it to Hollywood Fact: before you can make it to Simon, Randy, Kara and Paula, make sure youre ready to go through a few rounds first. “There are a lot of rounds, four to be exact. You have to make it through the first three with producers then the fourth round is with Simon and the others before you can make it to Hollywood.” Tasha made it to the 3rd round before getting cut. Producers told her they liked her voice but she just wasn’t someone that they were looking for this season. Tasha also notes that there were a lot of crazy people around here when she auditioned. She said that people were wearing crazy costumes and wigs, anything to get to the next round. And when asked who her favorite judges are, she admits she favors Randy and Simon because of their honesty. Currently Tasha is preparing to compete on BET’s Top Ten Countdown Show.
