Thousands of people flock to summer festivals in and around Fort Wayne.  Many of those celebrations are just about to get started.

But some festivals are struggling to find funding.

FOX Fort Wayne talked with organizers from New Haven Canal Days and the Three Rivers Festival about finding sponsors in a tough economy.

An organizer from New Haven Canal Days says they had to trim their budget from $7,000 to $2,000.  The Three Rivers Festival is still $65,000 short of necessary funding, according to that festival’s director.

Both organizers say the festivals will go on—and are expected to be as successful and, in some cases, better than previous years.
