There have been numerous reports of semis in ditches, over-turned, and those who have jack-knifed.  The slippery conditions are a bit more dangerous for truckers, mainly because of their size.

Dozens of accidents have happened today ever since the snow started coming down this morning.  With low visibility and slick roads, it's unsafe for anyone out there, but it is most unsafe for truckers, they are carrying thousands of pounds of cargo and it takes them a lot longer to stop.  Semi-truck drivers are begging and pleading with motorists to give them a brake.

Some truckers were able to post up at the Fort Wayne Truck Plaza off of i-69 exit 309.  Their companies advised them not to get out into the bad weather, and to let it blow over.

Truckers who talked to WFFT say that is not usually the case.  They have deadlines to meet.  Their companies have quotas to fill.
