The fort Wayne pain doctor accused of dangerously prescribing medications to his patients went before the medical licensing board of Indiana today.

No decision was made but  but WFFT spoke with a woman who says one of her family members died as a result of Dr. Hedrick's prescribing practices.

Dr. Hedrick had his license suspended back in December and today he once again faced the Medical licensing board

He recommended i go on morphine and muscle relaxers

Cathey Bowers and several of her family members are former patients of Dr.  Hedrick's.

The state accuses Dr. Hedrick of dangerous prescribing practices that led to the deaths of seven people.

"I just lost a niece holly baker," said bowers.

Bowers says her niece was a patient of Dr. Hedrick's.

"She was found the eighth of this month dead from a massive heart attack and the blood work came back saying it was from Opana," said Bowers.

Bowers says her family doesn't know if they will take legal action against Dr.   Hedrick.

Bowers says Dr. Hedrick's offices have started taking more precautions since allegations surfaced.

"Now they do your vitals when you go in that never done before, not until Hedrick left," said Bowers.

We reached out to Hedrick's attorney and legal assistant but did not receive a call back.
