Hours before the sun set on the Thanksgiving holiday, hundreds of shoppers across the area lined up to get a head start on their holiday shopping.

2012 is being called one of the earliest Black Fridays to date. Many stores around the Fort Wayne area opened as early as eight o'clock Thursday evening.

Shoppers were lined up for at least 30 hours at the Best Buy in Apple Glen Crossing on the West Side. The first man in line arrived at six o'clock on Wednesday evening. One group that stayed over night even brought a generator to power a flat screen television.

According to the National Retail Federation, 147 million shoppers say they will come out and take advantage of the deals between Friday and Sunday. On average, they'll spend $398 each.
