Police Raid Offices of Suspended Pain Doctor

Police in Fort Wayne are conducting raids on two offices belonging to suspended pain doctor William Hedrick, owner of the Centers For Pain Relief.
A patient who contacted WFFT on Wednesday said that they were turned away when they walked into the West Jefferson Blvd location for an appointment earlier in the day. Police were also at a second location on Dupont Road.
Inside Hedrick's third floor office, investigators were seen sorting through boxes of paperwork. Officers on the scene denied a request for comment.
Last month, the state's medical licensing board suspended Dr. William Hedrick's license following an investigation that revealed Hedrick had overprescribed pain medication to patients.
"He [was] just getting my money, but doing nothing for me personally, all he's doing is writing signatures," says Chris Wilson, a former patient of Hendrick's. On Wednesday, he was turned away by officials while dropping his wife off at an appointment at the West Jefferson Blvd location.
Wilson says his insurance company made him see another pain specialist after finding out about the investigation. He says his current doctors told him that Hendrick's therapy relied on dangerously-high levels of pain medication -- including Morphine.
In a statement, the Allen County Prosecutors office confirmed the raids were done in connection with the investigation into Hendrick's care. They did not disclose the nature of the documents that were being removed.
