Police in Noble County are investigating a failed murder-suicide. Family members say a Cromwell man shot his wife Thursday evening before turning the gun on himself.

It happened around 10:30 Thursday night at a trailer home on the 9000 block of North 900 West in Cromwell.

The daughter of the victim tells WFFT that she ran into her parents house last night and found her stepfather dead of a self-inflicted gunshot. Her mother had been shot several times in the legs, hip and chest.

Family and friends say the ordeal likely started as a domestic dispute. "He has been very abusive to her and he has said on more than one occasion that he was going to put a few rounds in her and then kill himself," said Delana Murray, the couple's daughter.
