1. Homicides with guns have been steadily decreasing for years. They did not consider FBI statistics showing that fact, conclusively.
2. There is no gun violence "epidemic." The 33 per day number is grossly overinflated., and it is decreasing every single year.
3. Criminal background checks on all illegal sales done by thugs on the street will not happen, and legal gun sales are not done by criminals.
4. Assault rifles have been banned since the 1930s; so, calling for a ban on something already banned is ludicrous.
5. What is a "high-capacity magazine?" Also, very large capacity magazines are notoriously prone to jam, which is exactly what happend in Tucson, AZ, and Aurora, CO.
6. Is not "gun trafficking" already a federal crime, and the Obama officials who trafficked guns to Mexico should be charged, tried, and (we hope, even though there is zero chance) convicted..
It is unfortunate facts are poor counters to emotionally charged falsehoods promulgated to advance political agendas.
